Four Seasons is one of the biggest independent produce wholesalers in the US and they have announced that starting Earth Day, April 22, 2007, all of their produce trays will be compostable.

Susanna writes: I have been using a new skin care line that I have fallen in love with. The company that makes the line is based in Australia. They have made great strides to invest in the environment. Not only are all their products Certified Organic, but they enlist outside help to make their company's "carbon footprint" neutral. They use wind energy to run their manufacturing plant. They are in the process of developing petrol free plastic packaging. They also plant trees every year to offset their pollution (i.e. UPS trucks that deliver their goods).

The pastures are pesticide-free and farmers do not feed the sheep antibiotics, says Walt Bader. The Grass Valley, Calif., company... runs the only bedding factory that is certified organic by an independent third party, Bader says. He compares organic claims to pregnancy: You can't be a little bit organic."
