Native Foods

I had lunch at Native Foods recently and was delighted to find refreshing, organic, vegan food. It was a casual dining experience centered around the idea that meat free is the way to go if you want to make a difference in the world and in your own health. I had the Ensalada Azteca: Chopped tomato, cucumber, onion, jicama and avocado, atop quinoa and romaine with a mango-lime vinaigrette. Garnished with pumpkin seeds & currants. It was delicious. For dessert the Key Lime Parfait was creamy with the perfect balance between tangy and sweet. It was difficult to chose from the abundant menu and I look forward to going back for more. They have four locations in Southern California, but if you want to try some of their food at home grab a copy of the Native Foods Cookbook by chef Tanya Petrovna
