The Publix chain of grocery stores in Florida is launching a spinoff chain, GreenWise,
planning to have four open by the end of next year.
Greenwise is kind of a hybrid store, bridging the gap between conventional and organic shopping.
GreenWise is similar to other big name health food chains like Whole Foods, though [spokeswoman] Brous said Publix offers customers more because GreenWise still carries select conventional items. Consumers can still purchase Oreos or Lays potato chips, she said, noting that many of their customers were shopping at Publix for those items and then going somewhere else for healthier options.
As long time onote readers will know, I like to slam Whole Foods for carrying so much conventional food. But if it's a big bag of Lays potato chips, I think you are pretty clearly laying your cards on the table, so I am going to give GreenWise a pass on this.
No duh! Newman's makes a great organic oreo substitute: /
Ode to Newman-O's
You might, m'lady tweak my nose.
You could, m'lord step on my toes.
But Heaven help those poor bozos, who try to filch my Newman-O's
And if it's Lays you're looking for, slam them all you want but "Whole Foods brand" organic potato chips rock.
