Do you love cupcakes? How about muffins? Scones? Brownies? Cookies? I love them when they are organic, vegan, made with whole grains and agave nectar for sweetening rather than sugar. Babycakes in Manhattan makes them just like that and they are very pretty too. Their menu even has gluten free options. These look so great. I can't wait to try them next time I'm in NYC. There is no shortage of pastry shops in Paris but vegan cakes are hard to come by. The site says they are opening a branch in West Hollywood too! I hope they come out with a cookbook. Emily Horne, Paris Correspondent

Babycakes wrote to us saying, "I just need to clarify one thing: you mention that we use whole grains, however, this is not the case. We use white spelt flour, white rice and garbanzo/fava bean flour and, while these are healthier alternatives to bleached wheat flour, they are not whole grains."
