One of many ancient remedies attributed to the pomegranate was a cure for leprosy. More recently studies have shown pomegranates to be preventive as well as therapeutic for breast cancer and for prostate cancer. All parts of the pomegranate can be used curatively, the juice is enormously high in anti oxidants which can help fight heart disease, the rind is helpful in treating intestinal disorders and oil from the seeds can reduce the discomfort of menopause. Pomegranates are even making a name for themselves in the bedroom, where they work as an alternative to Viagra. The many benefits of this beautiful and delicious fruit have made it into a veritable wonder drug.
